The religious organizations are a natural alliance of anti-dictatorship:

 The application of the sociology and the social psychology”(Series 3th)

Written by Henggeng Wang

A few words let you understand the present China and predict future China

Abstract: After presenting three cases and giving the definitions of religion, group, organization and their function, it is pointed out that the religious organization is very important against dictatorship.

ONE. Examples.

Example 1: The petitions accident at ZhongNanHai on April 25th(wikipedia):

On April 11th, 1999, Zuoxiu (an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences) published an article in Adolescent Expo, a magazine in the Tianjin Institute of Education. He accused that qigong (especially Falun Gong) is harmful for teenagers. The practitioners of Falungong wanted to talk with the magazine. However, 45 practitioners were arrested.

In the morning on April 25th, over 10,000 practitioners went to Petition Office of State Council (near ZhongNanHai). They were very peaceful and polite (in order to avoid the the treatment of violence from the CCP), and requested the government to release the arrested practitioners, and then the government set up special office, “610 Office”, … (Remark: The organization of Falungong is a kind of organization of qigong.)

(On April 25th , 1999, the practitioners petitioned near ZhongNanHai)

Example 2: Chinese New Democracy Party.  In 2007, Quan Guo, a vice-professor in Nanjing Normal University, established Chinese New Democracy Party. However, he was arrested on 13/11/2008 by Nanjing Public Security Bureau and was sentenced to 10 years as “Subversion of State Power”.

Example 3: House Church. On 19/02/2013, Yichun City, HailongJiang Province, Wenxian Shun, a pastor of House Church was beaten, cursed by the police, which caused the relapse of the heart attack. Moreover, JiMo City in Shandong providence, the two foreign pastors were detained by the police, and over 90 students was forced to severance.

TWO. The Definitions of Religion, the religious Freedom

 and Separation of Church and State

In demotic explanation, ( BoYang, a famous chinese historian), it can be a religion only if worship of gods. This means that the gods can be dead, live or never die. Also, the gods can move or not move.

The definition of Religion (Wikipedia) is a kind of belief and reverence to gods and to comply with the ceremony.

The elements of Religion are doctrines, ordinances and missions.

The universal characteristics of religion can be found in praying, ceremony, meditation, music and arts.

The three fundamental freedoms in modern society are freedom of speech, religion and association.

Separate of Church and State is that the power of religion is split from the power of state and government, which is a basic principle of modern politics.

Altruism is derived from the family, their close relative, and ultimately solidified and deepened by religion, as specialists said.

Social Function: After being studied by sociologists, the highly vitality of religion is based on social function of religion, such as ethics, a variety of culture value, which interweave with society and politics.

THREE. The religious overview in America and in China

In America, There are over 1000 religions and sectarians. Religious tolerance becomes an inalienable part of American culture, which not only reflects the cultural diversity of US, but also become an important source of American innovation.

In 1981, an international survey showed that citizens of US were more religious:

(1)    95%98% American strongly stated that they believe in God;

(2)    85% American liked to “Pray, Meditation and Contemplation”;

(3)    79% American gain “inspiration, comfort and strength” from Gods.

In China, in principle, those who are not registered in the government, are illegal groups (this means that the CCP are also illegal). The Chinese government requires religious groups to love the country and church, and banned religious organizations to have a direct contact with those overseas. Thus, those who are not recognized by the Chinese government are all illegal.

It is a rule in the party platform of the CCP that party member must be atheism. So the CCP officials want to get "inspiration, comfort and strength", mainly by power and money.

Since party members are atheism, the altruism of the CCP officials can be found within their family, relatives and trusted aide. Within the party, they utilize each other and struggle each other.

The Chinese government state that the main religion are Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism and there are 0.1 billion believers. We can’t trust the data from the CCP too much. There are another data from Wikipedia:

(1)    There are 0.39 billion of the Chinese folk beliefs (including Buddhism and Taoism);

(2)    There are 0.1 Christians;

(3)    There are over 70 millions practitioners of Falun Gong.

(4)    There are 6 millions Tibetan Buddhism and over 10 millions Islam.

Thus, including all kinds of underground religions, there are over 0.6 billions believers at all different levels.

Four. Social Group and Social Organization

Social group has been defined as two or more humans who interact with one another, share similar characteristics and collectively have a sense of unity. In general, a social group has a special social structure (social relation).

There are two kinds of social group as below:

(1)    A primary group is typically a small social group whose members share close, personal, enduring relationships. These groups are marked by members'' concern for one another, in shared activities and culture. Examples include family, schools, childhood friends and religious groups and small political groups. Primary groups play an important role in the development of personal identity.

(2)    A secondary group is a group based on interests and activities. The social function is the instrumental needs, such as work groups. Their relationship maybe is cold and practical.

An organization is a social entity that is deliberately designed for a special and collective goal. The power is usually relatively concentrated in leadership or executive director. The great benefit of the organization is to improve social efficiency, to organize human and to allocate resources, which are directed towards the achievement of organizational goal.

Organization has formal structure (regulations, discipline and procedures) and informal structure (interactive relationships formed). The informal structure helps the organization to adapt to changes in the social environment, to improve organizational efficiency and to complete the goal.

Examples include government, military, political parties, schools, hospitals, businesses, trade organizations, professional associations, trade unions and religious organizations, etc.

In China, all of the above organizations are comprehensive political. The complex network of the CCP corresponds in parallel with other organizations, and provide leader or guidance (such as party secretaries). For example, the Secretary of Bureau of Religious Affairs is Zuoan Wang who is a member of the CCP, the party secretary. As a result, these will eliminate or confuse responsibilities between the CCP and other organizations.

This is the essence of the dictatorship (or autocracy) and the root of all suffering in China: no matter how ridiculous a decision, any organization is still unable to provide any substantial protest.

Five. The religious organization is a natural alliance of anti-dictatorship

After the CCP seized power in 1949, in society, economic, politic, the CCP wanted "to break the old order," and “to establish a new order: Stalinism and bloody order.

Zedong Mao launched a series of 7 campaigns, including elimination of counter -revolutionaries, Anti-Rightist Campaign, the Great Famine. Just only 10 years, the numerous organizations which maybe survive over hundreds of years, such as associations, political parties and religions, suddenly disappeared in China. Then to the Cultural Revolution, since there was no organization left which Mao could fight, Mao let the CCP be infighting, "Break down Four Olds". And then the struggle directed at the natural and basic unit of human: Family! Let the Father and Son ( for example, Bo Xilai), Mother and Daughter, Husband and Wife fight each other, which are the greatest evil in human history.

Today, the CCP still sentence "Falun Gong", many underground church as cult and put Quan Liu establishing the Chinese New Democracy Party into prison for 10 years.

What do a series of results bring? On March 1, Hong Kong stipulates that everyone can not exit with two cans of baby milk powder. On the same day, 10 persons were arrested because of irregularities; Only 3% water in China is clean; everywhere is the terrible pollution of soil,…

The Chinese live like roaches.

Chinese officials have no moral. Unfortunately they feel no shame since their belief is from Stalin not from religions.

The poor Chinese babies have no clean milk powder, no clean water. Their parents feel so helpless when they watch the trillions of U.S. dollars of illegal outflow of capital, "internal struggle" or self-improvement, there is no any other way. The autocracy in China is still always.

Who can save Chinese? Self-improvement of the CCP (Chinese have unexpectedly expected so many years), democracy parties are of course, a kind of hope. How about the religious organization?

There are so much various religious organizations which can make you dazzling: some of them contain (recessive) Bureaucracy structure with highly efficient; some of them are extremely so strictly secret that you can not be aware of them thoroughly; …

(Quasi-) religious organizations carry their own unique cultural values and social expectations. Each of these organization can be able to complete the historic mission entrusted to them.

(1)    Christians promote love and freedom, which is the most need in China;

(2)    Falun Gong organizations, the Tibetans organizations run better than democratic movement. Falun Gong organization with "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" also developed Freegate so that the compatriots on the mainland can see a real world "over GFW (Great Fired Wall)";

(3)    Eastern Lightning who believes "doomsday" is simply to want to defeat the red dragon ( the CCP). Otherwise, it is the end of the Chinese people, and then will bring the earth into  trouble, which reflect that the sufferings and expectation of the people in the remote areas of China.

Thus, the religious organization is a natural alliance of anti-dictatorship:

(1)    Examples: the history of the Protestant and the Puritan: In 16th century, the rising of the Protestant unified the various elements of society. On the same time, the Protestant ethic supported the development of capitalism, which united pieces of Europe as one. In 17th century, the emergence of the Puritan in the Protestant groups, laid the foundation for the birth of the United States.

(2)    The religious moral standards contain the goals of life and the social ideals, which protect traditional and modern values, promote social integration and social security;

(3)    Religious altruism enable individuals decided to face the sacrifice when there is conflict between the individual wishes and needs of the community, for example, war.

(4)    Religions can provide the psychological needs: in all organizations, religious organizations are the best to provide support and comfort, to alleviate the pressure of life, to face life with a positive attitude; to help to overcome the fear of the unknown and anxiety for the future and to face death in the life.

(5)    Religions bring a sense of identity and a sense of security: when people suffer repression and persecution of the CCP, religious members encourage each other, comfort each other, take care of their family, and bring hope when the people are in pain.

(6)    Religious redemption (or afterlife) stressed: the corrupt officials have an opportunity to re-incorporate into society, which effectively slows social tensions.

(7)    Religions can bring appeal and organizations: when people are not satisfied with the political system and expect social change, religious groups are able to collect the people with dissatisfaction together, to bring their common interests, and to provide an organized force.

(8)    Religions are best for non-violent movement and Civil disobedience: Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King took great advantage of religious influence to promote love and freedom. Now, Obama, a Negro, become President of US.
